Capt. Rivers of East Auburn, who has seen the ice go out of Lake Auburn for many years and whose predictions are generally correct, says that the ice will not leave the lake this year until the first of May. Although the rain of the last two days will help to rot the ice, it is very thick and it will take much warm weather and rain to melt it.
