'Becoming Jane'
Since every single Jane Austen novel has been made into a movie at least two or three times, a biopic about the author herself seems long overdue. Anne Hathaway stars as Austen who, as the movie begins, is the underappreciated middle sister of a large brood. Then her own personal Mr. Darcy, Tom Lefroy (James McAvoy), swoops into her life and their ill-fated romance sets her on the path to becoming the author of such classic books as "Pride & Prejudice" and "Emma." Hathaway and McAvoy are quite good in their roles, but the movie itself is curiously wan.
