Summary
Maine Department of Transportation Commissioner David Cole has designated Route 113 from Standish to Gilead a Maine Scenic Byway.
Byway recognition is a distinct honor which I have believed, for a long time, Route 113 deserves. Last year, the Sun Journal's Judy Meyer wrote a completely unsolicited endorsement of the project, at a time when I felt it was being unfairly challenged.
