100 Years Ago, 1907

Summary


One of the happiest boys in Lewiston or Auburn on Saturday was Wallace McKennon, 13 James street, Auburn, who won the $12.50 Hot Tamale Coaster that was given to the boy whose coupons showed the largest amount of enamel sold during this contest at the Great Department Store. This coaster has been on exhibition in their Chapel street window and has been the envy of every boy in the two cities.

Believing that a gang of crooks are in the vicinity of Lewiston the police wish everybody to take especial precautions to keep their houses closed. Monday night four houses were entered and money and articles of value taken. City Marshal Cailler put men on the cases as soon as they were reported but nothing has been learned as yet.50 years ago, 1957
